Sponsoring New Dealers are the MOST IMPORTANT aspect of a successful AMSOIL Business. By sponsoring new dealers on a REGULAR BASIS your business will continue to grow and prosper. By NOT SPONSORING you (to be very honest) are not going to have a very successful business unless you are one of the rare people that can set up, literally, hundreds of commercial and retail accounts. Not only is sponsoring new dealers vital to your "current business" it is even MORE IMPORTANT for your long term security in this business! If, for example, something happens where you can not work your business...YOUR DOWNLINE DEALERS WILL and THAT will still provide an INCOME FOR YOU!

JUST AS IMPORTANT is the fact that YOUR DOWNLINE DEALERS have "contacts" that you do not have... they know hundreds of people that you do not know and many of those people "know" people that operate fleets, farms, large companies, retail outlets, etc. They can set them up or sponsor them much easier than you can. ALL OF THOSE DEALERS ARE GOING TO USE AMSOIL PRODUCTS IN THEIR OWN VEHICLES!!!! Remember, "volume is volume, volume is volume, volume is volume.. " it doesn't make any difference to you where it comes from... THAT means DOLLARS TO YOU!

The most successful way to meet new dealers and sponsor them is to "TALK TO EVERYONE YOU SEE"! There is an old saying, "You can offer your business to all the "friends, neighbors and relatives" you want, however, to seriously "build a business", is when you start sponsoring "STRANGERS".

Your "friends, neighbors and relatives" are "struggling" to "make it" too... THEY CERTAINLY WOULDN'T WANT TO PURCHASE ANY KIND OF PRODUCTS FROM YOU OR "WORSE YET", BE A DEALER FOR YOU... because 'THAT MIGHT HELP YOU MAKE MONEY' and then YOU WOULD BE BETTER OFF THAN THEM... and they certainly couldn't have that happen! We say, "Practice on your friends, neighbors and relatives" and build a business with strangers AND THAT IS VERY TRUE! Sure, offer it to them... that will GIVE YOU PRACTICE on getting "no's" and all of the other "excuses" and it will also give you training on how to overcome "objections"... and that IS GOOD TRAINING!

"The cardinal rule in this business is... TALK TO EVERYONE THAT COMES WITHIN THREE FEET OF YOU"! It is called "the 3-foot rule". It simply means TALK TO EVERYONE YOU SEE about AMSOIL! For inexperienced dealers that is, sometimes, very hard to do. (we will go into many other ways to "get new people" a little later, however, follow through on this...). NEVER LEAVE YOUR HOME WITHOUT SOME AMSOIL "INFORMATION" IN YOUR POCKET! The new catalogs are best, however, even if you only have a "business card" it is vital that you never leave home without "something"!

When you stop for gas TALK TO THE OTHER PERSON GETTING GAS! What I do is always say "hi" to them and then get a catalog and give it to them and say, "Hey, I've got some "PROPAGANDA" for you!" (and THAT IS THE TERM I USE!). Half the time they will take the catalog and say OK and that is it. THE OTHER HALF OF THE TIME -- THEY START ASKING QUESTIONS and then you have either a dealer or a customer! It is not hard and it gets to be fun after you have done it a few times!

WHO DO YOU KNOW THAT WOULD LIKE TO EITHER SAVE MONEY OR MAKE MONEY? I can't tell you how many times I have been talking to someone, usually a "stranger" and simply ask, "By the way, Who do you know that might like to either make some money or save some money?" Usually the answer comes back, "I would"! Then I tell them that I am in the "AMSOIL Business" and we really have more business than we can handle and have an opportunity for someone to develop an outstanding income and when would be a good time to "get together" with him/her?

PEOPLE WANT TO BE "NEEDED"!! When you are talking to someone, even in your own town, you might ask, "What part of town do you you live in?" No matter what part of town (or area) they live in YOU NEED A DEALER THERE! RIGHT? You answer with the comment, "GREAT, I am looking for someone in your area." When they ask. "What for?", you simply explain that you are "EXPANDING YOUR BUSINESS" and would like to have an AMSOIL Dealer in that part of town and you think they would be ideal for it! Now you simply arrange a time to get together with them and explain how the AMSOIL Program works!

I can't tell you how many customers and dealers we have gotten over the years by "just handing out a Business Card"! I will be standing in line and casually strike up a conversation with someone in the line and DURING THE CONVERSATION will pull out a business card and say, "...by the way, the next time you change oil... give me a call!" Usually, they will start asking questions and you end up with a customer or a dealer! Keep in mind, THIS IS NOT IMPOSING on someone. You just have something GOOD and are willing to SHARE IT WITH THEM! Don't you think that when his car gets better fuel mileage, lasts longer, etc. or he has an opportunity to make money he will appreciate it?

By continually SPONSORING NEW DEALERS you have a constant flow of new ideas and NEW PEOPLE TO WORK WITH! Keep in mind, ON THE AVERAGE... when you sponsor a new dealer in one month... THE NEXT MONTH you will have an additional $100.00 in volume! How many 100's do you want next month?
